Our volunteer ministry is based on the Truth that each of us has spiritual gifts and unique talents to offer, and that these gifts are woven together to create a vibrant and growing spiritual community. Without volunteers we would not be able to do all that we can for our congregation and our community.

If you are looking to get more involved, there is no better place than volunteering. Your level of involvement is up to you – we appreciate each and every one of our volunteers.

Why volunteer?

  • Service is a commitment to “Be the change we  want to see in the world.”
  • To meet new people who are also serving.
  • To experience the thrill of working together as a team in service to our spiritual community and our world.
  • To experience the joy of giving and receiving an abundance of love and blessings.
  • To have fun!

Get Involved!

Unity in Chicago’s life and mission go beyond Sunday mornings…and we have many great ways for you to get involved and get connected! Contact us and indicate which team you’d like more information about.

Community Outreach Committee
The Community Outreach Committee spreads the Unity message of oneness, inclusiveness, and fun by putting our beliefs of service into action throughout our community. There’s never been a better time to get involved with Community!

Gala Team
This is a lively and dedicated group of congregants who plan and run Unity’s fall benefit. Together, the team creates Unity’s one big annual fundraiser of the year.

Higher Ground Choir
Share our voices through multi-part arrangements of spiritually themed songs from a variety of musical genres. The choir gathers weekly to rehearse between September and May and performs a number of times a year during our services.

Pet Ministry
Honor the rich and mutually rewarding relationship with animals by providing healing, adoptions and fostering for pets in need. The Pet Ministry is active throughout the year to raise funds to cover the vet bills of the many homeless animals that find their way to Unity in Chicago. We are committed to assisting with spay/neuter projects and education to reduce overpopulation and euthanasia rates in our communities.

Welcome and Retention Team
This important team greets members and visitors as they arrive on Sundays and for special services. They provide the smiling faces and warm hugs that let everyone know they are welcome at Our Home on Thome. Team members sign up to serve on the Sundays of their choosing.

Spiritual Renewal and Education Committee
Using Unity Principles, the Spiritual Renewal and Education Committee inspires and affirms an environment of stewardship, sustained growth and service for ourselves and our spiritual community.

Classes are also a great way to get involved
